The Golden Rules

Every day. For the full 30 days.

Official completion means meeting the nutrition, repetitions and cardio rules on 30 consecutive days. If you miss a day, be honest: restart at day one when you are ready. There is no shame in stopping, adapting or trying again.

01

Nutrition

Remove the obvious habit-breakers.

For the duration of the challenge, avoid:

  • Foods labelled high in saturated fat
  • Takeaways of any kind
  • Added or free sugars
  • Sweets and chocolate
  • Alcohol
How to judge it

Use food labels: “high” saturated fat means more than 5g of saturates per 100g. Whole fruit, vegetables and plain milk are allowed. Honey, syrups, fruit juice and smoothies count as free sugar for this challenge.

02

Daily exercise

Complete 30 total repetitions.

This means 30 repetitions altogether—not 30 of every exercise. Mix and match movements and split them into manageable sets.

  • Press-ups
  • Sit-ups
  • Squats
  • Squat jumps
  • Lunges
  • Burpees
  • Mountain climbers
  • Star jumps
Adaptations count

Wall or knee press-ups, supported squats and other lower-impact versions are valid. Use controlled form, stop if a movement causes pain and choose an alternative.

03

Daily cardio

Complete at least 30 minutes.

Choose walking, running or cycling at a level appropriate for your current ability.

  • Walking
  • Running or jogging
  • Cycling
One session or several

Your 30 minutes may be completed in one block or shorter sessions totalling 30 minutes. If you have the access and ability, another deliberate cardio activity may substitute, but no alternative activity or facility is expected.

Why these rules?

Discipline without punishment.

Thirty days can feel long. That is the point: to interrupt familiar habits, practise better decisions and gather evidence that you can keep showing up. The challenge does not prescribe calories, weigh-ins, body measurements or a target appearance.

ConsistencyComplete the same clear commitments each day.
ChoiceSelect exercises and cardio that suit your ability.
HonestyRecord difficult days as openly as successful ones.
ConnectionUse the community for support—not comparison.
30

MILES

ONE CONTINUOUS RECORDED EFFORT

Completely optional

The Prestige Award.

The standard 30/30 Challenge ends after 30 consecutive rule-complete days. The Prestige Award is a separate, advanced endurance achievement for people who want to finish with an unforgettable effort.

WalkRunCycleRowSwim

Complete 30 miles in one recorded activity. Normal safety, food, drink or toilet stops are permitted, but the distance cannot be divided across different days or separate activities.

Thirty miles is not equally difficult in every activity.

A 30-mile swim, row, run or walk can be an extreme endurance undertaking. Attempt only an activity for which you have trained, planned and arranged appropriate equipment, nutrition, hydration and support. Never swim in open water alone.

How Prestige verification works

Record it. Submit it. Earn your place.

Use Strava or another recognised tracking platform. Outdoor activities should include a GPS record; indoor rowing, treadmill or pool efforts can use a clear machine, pool or event record.

01

Record

Your evidence must show the activity type, date, full 30-mile distance, elapsed time and one continuous recorded activity.

02

Submit

Send the share link or clear screenshots, plus the name you want displayed. Social Fitness reviews each claim before publication.

03

Recognise

Verified finishers receive a digital certificate and a Hall of Fame listing with their name, activity and completion time.

You can complete the 30/30 Challenge on your own, but you don’t have to do it alone. Join the UK Social Fitness Telegram community for support, encouragement, programme updates and shared progress. Strava is there for activity tracking and motivation.

Important clarification

Community tools support the challenge — they do not define it.

Telegram is optional support. You do not need to join it to exercise or complete 30/30. Neither joining Telegram nor recording activity on Strava proves that somebody has completed the full 30/30 Challenge. Official completion still requires the published rules to be followed for 30 consecutive days:

  • The published nutrition exclusions
  • 30 total exercise repetitions every day
  • At least 30 minutes of deliberate cardio every day

Public sharing is optional. Nobody needs to share body photographs, measurements or personal health information.

Want to share publicly? Use #3030challenge and #uksocialfitness, or see community stories.

A hashtag does not give Social Fitness permission to republish your post.

Clear from the start

Free for now.
Supported by choice.

The 30/30 Challenge is free to take part in for now. Signing up, joining Telegram or completing the challenge does not create a paid subscription or authorise any payment.

If you’ve enjoyed taking part and would like to help us grow UK Social Fitness, you’re welcome to make an optional donation. Every contribution helps us keep the website going and build healthier, happier and more connected communities.

Donating is never required to take part, complete the challenge or receive community recognition.

Read before day one

Commitment never outranks safety.

This is a voluntary community challenge, not personalised medical, fitness or dietary advice. Choose an intensity appropriate for you. If you have not exercised for some time, are pregnant, are injured, take medication, live with a health condition or have concerns about food or exercise, speak to an appropriate healthcare professional before starting.

If you have a current or previous eating disorder, rigid food rules may be unsuitable. Do not use this challenge as a weight-loss treatment. If you may be dependent on alcohol, do not stop drinking suddenly to meet the rule—NHS guidance warns that sudden withdrawal can be dangerous. Seek medical or alcohol-service advice first.

The standard challenge is designed for adults. Anyone under 18 should only take part with a parent or guardian and appropriate professional guidance.
